I am a member of three online dating sites and I really love the whole experience of meeting people online. A lot of my friends don't get it and they will even make fun of me for loving dating sites so much but I really could care less. My sister was devastated after the death of her husband. It had been over five years since she actually considered going out with another man. She felt that if she was to ever date again that her first date would possibly be to hard for her to handle. I decided that she could go about searching online for a companion, without actually having to go out physically with a man. I found a dating site, that was clean and contained a serious level of other individuals who seemed to be passionate, and were stable at mature levels. My sister hesitated at first but then was able to get used to the idea of using a dating site, online. She found it easier to meet and talk with men online. Finally, she met someone on the dating site, and even held conversation's over the phone. They would talk for hours upon hours about anything and everything. But, she seemed to find it very difficult to express her feelings further than the phone. She finally met this guy in person, and she practically ran away upon the first eye to eye meeting! She continued to use the dating site, but she still lacked the courage to really meet anyone in person. One day, I finally asked her "Why are you so hesitant when meeting another man in person?". She just stated that she would feel guilty about meeting other men, and that still felt that she was a married woman. The fact that her husband had passed away didn't seem to register right in her mind. I eventually asked her if maybe she needed some counselling. She became furiously angry with me, and didn't speak to me for almost a month. She said that she was jealous of me because my husband was still alive and healthy. My husband and I were not doing so great at the time, and really set a bad example for her. She told me that I was so blessed to still have my husband, and that I took him for granted. Angry emotions seemed to engorge our relationship for a period of time. Finally, one day my sister met again with a man from the dating site. Even though she was angry at my idea about counselling; she still decided to seek out professional help. When meeting with this man she learned to open up her emotions, and let another person come into her life. I know that death can be devastating, but we all must learn to move on. Technology today is so impressive, such as meeting people online. I am so thrilled that I introduced my sister to the online dating site. My sister has now been married for five years. She is happy, but still continues to visit her first husbands grave periodically. Her new husband supports her in every way emotionally, and visits the grave along with her. I am so happy that she finally found someone, and she also helped to mend my marriage as well. I learned that you should always take every moment of life and treasure it, for one day it will end.
